NBC is scaling back Sunday's Golden Globes award telecast to avoid a showdown between actors and writers during the ongoing writers' strike. The L.A. Times reports the peacock network will air a special edition of Dateline to showcase the nominees, followed by a press conference announcing the winners and an entertainment-news show covering the after parties. Last week it was announced that celebrities would not be appearing on the planned awards show.
